 I had more success with todays learning session (Media). The philosophy and pedagogy around create is inspiring. I like the references to supporting innovation, exploration and creativity. The 60 years ago video was a timely reminder about education and tools too. We are currently preparing for the film festival so todays create sessions were really helpful. I especially enjoyed the Storyboarding lesson. I can see my akonga having a great time creating some humorous slides and sharing them with their peers. And what a simple yet effective way to plan for short film.  A huge tautoko to Jacob our facilitator for that workshop and all his ongoing support. Nga mihi Jacob.

  What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy? I learned that the kaupapa around manaiakalani is about moving forward. Learning, sharing and creating. I especially made connections with the aspect of sharing as a way to be inspirational for others. This was also highlighted by the big idea around achievement where Dorothy describes achievement being a possibility for everyone making education equitable no matter where you come from. The bigger picture is about serving everyone (He aha i te mea nui? he tangata, he tangata, he tangata o te ao). The use of devices to engage, our learners to audiences is not just the tacher but to everyone. The idea around hope encourages transformation at the highest level too. The possibility that every person has the potential to be successful. The origins of manaiakalani remind me of leadership and that everyone person has had in creating it are actually role models for communities where everyone is a Rang...

Scratch

My fisrt scratch attempt. Using waka and creating sounds for each sprite or part of the waka. I'm still working on it. I need to practice debugging. 'The greatest joy comes from empowering students to know that all experts were once beginners too.
